As a celebrated member of our award-winning PX Team, your creativity will ripple across the entire Cisco landscape. From industrial design to packaging to user experience, our influence is profound and far-reaching. Originating from within the Cisco Meraki organization, we've expanded our horizons and are now setting ambitious new benchmarks for Cisco's design ethos.

Your role will be pivotal in advancing our mission to elevate the aesthetics and usability of our enterprise hardware products. We drive a concerted effort to harmonize Cisco's brand image across all product lines, ensuring our users' seamless and intuitive experience. Our design philosophy hinges on crafting solutions that are not just simple and professional but also communicative, consistent, and brave.

As part of Cisco’s Product Experience team, you will…

  • Communicate design ideas effectively via sketches, renderings, handmade prototypes, and 3D printed concept models.
  • Use solid and surface modeling expertise to deliver adaptable and precise CAD packages to Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Create detailed drawings, CMF documents, and guidelines that enable engineering execution.
  • Employ user-centered design principles based on customer usage research to create intuitive designs that improve functionality and user experience.
  • Lead and chip in significantly to the design and development of product lines.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to reduce costs without compromising our products' elegance and premium feel.
  • Proactively share updates and innovative solutions with management and the team.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of engineering and scientific principles to ensure reliable product performance.
  • Mentor other designers, setting clear expectations and guiding them through the design process.
  • Conduct brainstorming sessions and design reviews to enhance creativity and problem-solving.
  • Innovate by exploring new trends and technologies and integrating them into product designs.
  • Advocate and establish design guidelines, standards and processes.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the full product development cycle, overcoming technical and business challenges while upholding design quality standards.
  • Safeguard and evolve our Industrial Design Language and brand identity consistently with our ethos.
  • Use your design and engineering skills to collaborate on non-product-based side projects that assist other teams.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%.  Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
