Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management, to join our Legal, Risk and Corporate Responsibility Team.  This position is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a fast-paced, dynamic Legal Department in supporting the business by assisting in identifying, assessing, and mitigating material business risks through the execution of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.  This position will report to the Director of Risk and Insurance.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and technical expertise in the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the company’s ERM program.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the company’s annual Enterprise Risk Assessment and other ERM assessments as required.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the business to drive risk identification, complete risk assessments, create mitigation plans, follow risk mitigation plans to closure, and communicate progress and results.
  • Support the generation of Board and executive-level scorecards and materials to enable reporting and risk-based decisions in the business.
  • Produce risk-based portfolio level reporting packages, using quantitative and qualitative analytics on large and complex data sets.
  • Lead and oversee the buildout of the AuditBoard ERM GRC tool to ensure stakeholder functionality and data integrity; and lead efforts to leverage the system to drive value and create efficiencies.  Ensure key business risks reflect the ERM Risk Taxonomy and related key risk definitions.
  • Support the build-out of the corporate compliance framework, using the AuditBoard ERM tool, to account for the assessment, management, and audit of non-SOX/non-regulatory risks.
  • Support the build out of ERM governance, including control owner identification and accountability, to drive accountability and transparency on the company’s risk profile.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key individuals within the organization to execute risk goals, deliverables, and objectives.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business with 10+ years’ progressively responsible experience within a Risk, Internal Audit, Compliance, Internal Controls, or ERM department/function.
  • Strong business acumen with initiative and ability to proactively identify risk issues, research and analyze complex matters, assess potential exposures, and effectively propose and execute courses of action to minimize risk within an ERM framework.
  • Strong aptitude to form effective working relationships across organizational boundaries and the ability to lead by influence.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to move quickly; intellectually curious and willingness to learn new areas of business.
  • Some travel may be required.

Bonus:

  • Knowledge of COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations) and ERM frameworks, with a preference for expertise in ERM Risk Frameworks and Risk Taxonomies.
  • Familiarity with risk assessments, risk appetite, risk identification, risk monitoring, and risk review is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AuditBoard functionality or other GRC software system.
