The Associate position supports Terreva’s growth objectives through financial modeling and analysis, research, due diligence, transaction execution, asset monitoring, and reporting functions. This position will gain valuable exposure to Terreva’s wide range of existing and potential investments in energy infrastructure, in addition to direct exposure to senior management and the institutional ownership group.

Essential Functions:

  • Development & Construction:
  • Develop financial models that accurately reflect investment structures and are easy to follow, audit, and update by intended audience(s)
  • Assemble Investment Committee memos, including composing final investment recommendations and compiling support documents
  • Support Terreva Development team with general commercial activities
  • Perform market research and build relationships with external experts
  • Corporate Development

  • Assemble and prepare due diligence materials for use in acquisitions, financings, and dispositions
  • Coordinate with legal and accounting departments to facilitate the closing of transactions
  • Organize and analyze data from development, construction, and operations’ activities to assist Terreva leadership team in developing company strategy and related action plans
  • Prepare and maintain agendas and minutes for Board meetings
  • Financial Reporting

  • Track investment performance by updating the quarterly IRR model, preparing Asset Management Reports and updating Investor Summaries
  • Collect, assemble, and prepare for presentation all cross-functional reporting including but not limited to; financial, operations and ESG, as required 

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years professional experience working in investment banking or private equity, focusing on infrastructure and/or equity investment experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex information, financial statements, and/or legal documents
  • Strong Excel skills, including ability to do advanced modeling with multi-tiered promote structures, sensitivity tables, pivot tables and scenario analysis
  • Strong math skills that are successfully utilized to develop complex financial models, returns analysis, and sensitivity analysis
  • Ability to write clearly, and effectively, presenting complex information accurately and appropriately for the intended audience
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to solve practical problems, regardless of the level of complexity
  • Knowledge of corporate finance concepts
  • Quantitative aptitude, with a preference for fluency in corporate and/or asset finance 
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and work effectively with deal team members often spread across multiple geographies
  • Ability to work independently and to proactively evaluate and address work opportunities within the area of responsibility
  • Ability to organize, perform, and prioritize various functions to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
