We are seeking a Business Development Analyst to assist with Solar Renewable Energy Credit (SREC) installer partnership origination and operations. This role will be part of our Aggregation Team within the wider Environmental Commodities Management (ECM) department. The role is ideal for an entry level candidate interested in gaining hands-on business development experience and fostering customer/channel partner relationships. The ideal candidate is looking to join a growing company, work in an entrepreneurial environment, and help expand market share for Sol’s Aggregation platform via installer relationships in PJM and NEPOOL Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) programs as well as help Sol expand into new environmental commodity products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Sol Systems as an ambassador and help establish partnerships with installers, developers, project/portfolio owners, and other stakeholders
  • Assist in managing communications and overall relationships with all partners
  • Gather feedback from partners to aid in the development of internal enhancements that address their needs
  • Help design and execute strategies to meet growth targets
  • Conduct market research to provide Sol Systems with a clear vision into opportunities
  • Lead collection and processing of solar system registration documentation such as contract organization and utility interconnection agreements
  • Successfully upload, track, and manage customer and partner accounts  
  • Help with portfolio growth data reporting to the Aggregation team and Executive Management
  • Stay up to date on market policy changes and effectively communicate out to the Aggregation team and external stakeholders
  • Monitor SREC pricing trends and support the ECM team in developing new SREC product structures that appeal to customers and partners.
  • Assist in analyzing opportunities for expansion into new product areas
  • Other tasks as assigned to support the Aggregation business

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Interest and enthusiasm for the solar and/or energy markets
  • Eagerness to initiate and develop new partnerships with channel partners, installers, developers, system owners, or investors
  • Ability to multitask and respond to client requests promptly
  • Possess a basic understanding of solar renewable energy credits (SRECs) or similar environmental commodities
  • Comfortable with completing a wide range of qualitative and quantitative tasks each day
  • Exposure to SQL, Python, PowerBI or similar data visualization a plus
  • Ability to learn and articulate complex solar energy concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite - including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Drive and flexibility to support and build up an expanding business

Location & Hours: This is a full-time role and will be based in our Washington, DC office. Sol Systems offers a hybrid work schedule with employees working from home and in the office. Commitment & Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
