Contracts Attorney ( remote but must reside in the United States)

Job Overview:

This role is an independent contractor that can lead to a full time role if desired. You must be able to start immediately. Our Contracts Attorney will oversee the preparation and execution of all contracts. They’ll negotiate terms, ensure legal compliance, and set official contract strategies. We need someone with a thorough understanding of a variety of U.S. and Global commercial contracts ranging from nondisclosure agreements, software/hardware and services agreements, and labor related agreements. All of our contracts should be in line with our larger company goals and philosophies while mitigating risk whenever possible. Our Contracts Attorney should feel comfortable crafting strong arguments during negotiations. We need them to find a compromise that will benefit the company as much as it benefits the signer.

Responsibilities:

  • Devise and document contract strategy in line with our company values
  • Develop a variety of contracts to fit business needs
  • Ensure contracts comply with all federal and state regulations
  • Negotiate contract terms and review financial viability
  • Advise clients of contract terms and expedite whenever possible
  • Educate managers and executives in contract policies
  • Draft additional legal documentation as needed
  • Review contract terms and update them to fit legal needs or new company policies
  • Research new contract laws and ensure total compliance

Necessary Skills & Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited institution
  • Current state bar certification
  • Minimum of 4+ years in contract law
  • Experience drafting a variety of legal documentation
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Outstanding time management skills
  • Comfortable working with clients and executives alike
  • Ability to explain complex contract laws in everyday language
  • Industry subject matter expert

Pay and Benefits (USA)

  • Expected salary range will be discussed as this is a contract role. Total starting compensation will be determined based on all lawful criteria, Company policy and best practices.
