Overview

The Director of B2B Marketing leads the team that plans and executes marketing activities to achieve the financial and strategic objectives of the business, including marketing strategy, sales and product alignment, partnership marketing, digital content & engagement, budget management, and tracking return on marketing investment.

A "player/coach", the Director should have leadership experience in marketing and sales management; thorough knowledge of marketing principles, product or service management, demand creation, and brand management across all media; and a demonstrated track record of success and performance. This leadership position requires the ability to understand changing market dynamics, translate them into actionable strategy, and implement the strategy to achieve objectives in the marketing plan.

The Director of Marketing would report to the CCO and serve on the Commercial Leadership Team. Based on performance, impact, and EQ, the individual would stair step in role to higher titles over a 3-to-5-year period.

Roles/ Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to oversee the development of strategic marketing plans.
  • Lead execution of agreed-upon marketing plans and campaigns from concept to final analysis.
  • Conduct regular meetings with company leadership to report status on all marketing-related activities and how they perform in relation to overall company goals.
  • Work with communications lead in marketing team to develop communication pillars and planning, content strategy, and any required localizatoin
  • Support market research, competitive intelligence, and buyer insights & analytics
  • Drive companies digital strategy and experience including enabling buyers and customer to self-enable through our website, leveraging content and AU to influence buyer decisions
  • Optimize the brand representation, management, and measurement to maximize impact
  • Establish and maintain public relations and influencer networks via a management and cultivation plan
  • Overseeing and coordinating a B2B organization's campaign planning, execution, and measurement processes
  • Develops customer marketing and engagement strategies; leads a set of activities that drive retention, loyalty, advocacy, growth, and community participation within an organization's prospect and current customer/client base promoting a customer lifecycle approach
  • Craft, with internal stakeholders, company event strategy to maximize brand awareness, pipeline building, and thought leadership while tracking ROI
  • Establish and manage the marketing review / governance cadence
  • Focus on talent planning & development by reviewing organizational alignment to business goals, competency assessments, and skills development.

Success Metrics:

  • Overall business performance: revenue, growth, ROI, market share
  • Return on marketing investment
  • Discrete marketing targets aligned to company strategy

Qualifications

Minimum required:

  • Between 5 and 10 years of recent B2B marketing experience
  • Proven ability to tie demand creation efforts directly to sales pipeline, including inbound marketing, direct response marketing, lead nurturing and prospecting; track record of aligning with sales around these tasks is vital
  • History of building programs that serve various routes to market
  • Brand management for B2B organizations, including extending into new markets, managing brands through acquisition, and launch new products and services; ability to demonstrate the brand's role in the marketing ecosystem
  • Managed customer marketing, including advocacy programs, referral programs, and advisory boards; has demonstrated ability to work with customers and present to them
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the infrastructure requirements of marketing, including marketing automation, web marketing, business intelligence, and marketing point tools
  • Experience in working with marketing operations to develop and operationalize marketing measurements, including the demonstration of marketing's value and how the information was used for tactical and strategic decision-making
  • Has participated in social media and managed the development of a social media program

Work associated with this position is sedentary in nature and performed indoors at a desk either remotely or in an office setting.

Travel for this position is less than 10%.

This position is hybrid in office and remote.
