We are looking for an analyst to join the Currency Management team in Chicago. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, successful and collaborative team of FX professionals, managing currency portfolios and delivering solutions to Northern Trust clients.

You will be part of a global team, who manage passive currency hedges for a diverse client base. This involves trade generation, verification, execution of trades as well as associated portfolio performance measurement.

The analyst will support their senior partners and other team members in all aspects of the day to day duties of the currency management business with the dual goals of minimizing operational risk and delivering on currency hedging objectives for our clients. As you gain experience, you will take responsibility for individual accounts and have increased client interaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily management of clients' currency hedging portfolios
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance
  • Take initiative to drive the improvement of internal processes working together with our global teams to identify and develop efficiencies
  • Support the client servicing efforts with preparation of client presentation materials and reporting packages

Knowledge and Skills

  • Highly analytical mindset
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail producing high quality work with a high degree of accuracy while operating under time sensitive deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), you are able to work as part of a team as well as taking initiative to work independently on behalf of the team
  • An interest in financial markets with a desire to learn more
  • Currency management experience would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Coding knowledge would be useful
  • Flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment involving intra-day deadlines.
