We are looking for a passionate support consultant to join our Technical Support Team in Chicago. The technical support team is an internal function of ThoughtWorks that works closely with ThoughtWorkers and our Clients, in our offices and on client sites. But we do more than just IT support, we are a team of passionate and forward-thinking people, who work closely with our stakeholders to determine and execute strategies to enable consultants, clients, and guests to work effectively - in our offices and on client sites. 


Must be able to go into the Chicago office 3-4 times a week. 

Job responsibilities

  • Providing outstanding customer service and support for various products used by Thoughtworkers such as video conferencing by Zoom, Sophos, G Suite tools, Okta, Sumo Logic.
  • Support Office Operation teams to ensure in-office tasks run as smoothly as possible
  • Troubleshoot Zoom room issues (restart zoom rooms, disconnect/reconnect hardware, etc.)\
  • Promptly respond and resolve help tickets based on priorities
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including (but not limited to the greater TechOps team, Chicago Office Manager, colleagues and clients in-office, etc.) to support in-office needs.
  • Drop off laptops as needed to FedEx and receive shipments from UPS/FedEx/USPS in Office.
  • Have up to date systems based on laptop returns, stock room. 
  • Support the TechOps team in coordinating the shipping and delivery of equipment
  • Be on-site before, during and after events, inceptions, client meetings, etc. to provide technical support.
  • Provide, collect and share feedback to help improve processes and procedures

Job qualifications

Technical Skills
  • Basic networking knowledge to troubleshoot Wi-Fi issues.
  • Familiarity using and supporting video conferencing (Zoom).
  • Willing to learn new concepts and expand on their technical depth and share those learning with the team.
  • Basic knowledge of OSX and IOS operating systems - (Windows/Linux/Android a bonus!) 
  • Basic knowledge with hardware such as Apple, Lenovo, Junipers, Palo Alto, Logitech, ETC
  • Understanding the importance of Information security and practices.

Professional Skills

  • Written documentation, updates and root cause analysis on IT issues to ZenDesk ticketing system.
  • Knowledge of Macs (professionally or privately).
  • Understanding the importanceUnderstanding importance of Information security.
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot hardware issues.
  • A solid grasp and understanding of customer service and an aptitude to solve issues together.
  • Regular communication with team, users and partners.
  • Flexibilty and support for your team - this means sharing knowledge within the team and collaborating wherever possible.

Travel

However, business travel to Thoughtworks office locations should be expected when required by Thoughtworks or our clients’ needs.
