As our Lead, Digital Designer, you will..

Play a key role in shaping our client's digital presence, driving engagement through compelling visual experiences, and contributing to a vibrant community of strategists, researchers, designers, and developers. You embrace the responsibility of driving innovation, nurturing creativity, and fostering collaboration within your team to consistently deliver the highest quality UI and digital design solutions. You are passionate about human-centered design and are excited to work across a range of focus areas, from dot-coms of scale and mobile app design to digital product development and omnichannel consumer experiences. You take pride in contributing to the collective growth of the experience design discipline.

Be Accountable and Responsible

  • Design planning and execution—contributing to design planning, implementing superior user-centered design solutions, and driving design decisions that provide positive, persuasive, and productive experiences 
    • Managing small teams (1-2 designers) and moderately complex projects, contributing directly to design initiatives from conception to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables that align with client objectives and user needs. Participates in project planning (hours, schedule) through to design, reviews, and presentations.
    • Applying expertise in design principles, trends, best practices and tools, and research-based insights to create outstanding experiences that align with business objectives and user needs
    • Iteratively refining design concepts based on feedback from stakeholders, usability testing results, and iterative design cycles
    • Ensuring consistency and coherence across all design deliverables, maintaining adherence to brand guidelines and design standards
    • Providing strategic direction in design activities, guiding the team in making decisions that align with project objectives and user needs 
    • Collaborating with developers and other team members to ensure seamless integration of design elements and optimal user experience
  • Design leadership—proactively mentoring fellow designers, contributing to a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning
    • Advocating for the end-user internally and externally, ensuring that user needs and perspectives are central to the design process
    • Providing constructive feedback and guidance to junior designers, fostering their growth and development within the team
    • Leading by example through demonstrating a strong work ethic, passion for design, and commitment to excellence
    • Supporting accessibility and inclusion and promoting these standards with the internal project team and clients
    • Collaborating with UX, strategy, and technology, taking advantage of related domain knowledge to best envision and realize the digital creative strategy
    • Staying current with the latest design trends, techniques, and technologies, incorporating them into your work
  • Client engagement—serving as a contact who demonstrates an understanding of their vision and translates it into compelling digital solutions
    • Able to present designs internally and to clients, effectively articulating the rationale and potential impact. Artfully discussing alternative solutions, thinking flexibly about how best to meet the goals of the client and their users. 
    • Taking responsibility for design solutions that align with project goals and measurement objectives
    • Talking informally about design trends and work worth noting, enthusiastically promoting user-centered design. Helps nurture client investments in design to solve problems and add value to the business.

These are the qualifications we’re looking for

  • 5+ years designing interactive solutions, preferably in an agency or consulting firm
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Digital Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong portfolio showcasing successful digital campaigns and projects across various platforms (i.e. websites, mobile apps, digital products, enterprise applications, and cross-channel experiences)
  • Proven experience working with and building design systems based on atomic design methodology, including creating and maintaining component libraries, style guides, and design documentation to ensure consistency and scalability across digital products and platforms. (Hands-on experience with Sitecore and/or AEM is a plus.)
  • Creative problem solver and analytical thinker who enjoys a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Experience with one or more of these verticals: healthcare providers, health insurance, life science, financial services, food service, or e-commerce
  • Comprehensive understanding of UX principles and patterns, persuasive design techniques, gestalt principles, and responsive/adaptive design practices
  • Enthusiasm for and ability to collaborate with UX designers, content strategists, business analysts, and development teams
  • Able to work independently, with minimal oversight, as well as collaboratively and to communicate effectively with the entire team, including client services and project management
  • Expertise in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, ProtoPie)
  • Broad understanding of accessibility and inclusive design standards, including the ability to apply Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in iterative development cycles to deliver digital design solutions that meet evolving client needs and project requirements
  • Solid understanding of front-end development and its impact on design
