We are currently seeking a Logistics Network Design and Optimization Engineer.  This position requires an experienced professional with the ability to independently architect transportation, distribution, and packaging strategies for global implementation.  This position requires partnership with Supply Chain, QA/QC, Manufacturing, Packaging, Engineering, Finance, and Regulatory Affairs to implement new processes and manage changes. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly, ability to work in ambiguous situations and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

You Will: 

  • Develop and optimize the overall plan for all aspects of the inbound and finished vehicle logistics network for current and new programs
  • Develop models using modelling tools or excel solvers to evaluate the logistics network, create dedicated route design, strategic network analysis, conduct scenario analysis and identify opportunities across the network to optimize for speed (capacity), cost (total logistics expense), resiliency, inventory, and quality (on-time delivery) parameters and provide recommendations to the team
  • Responsible for network engineering projects, generation of strategic cost savings using technology tools, statistical analysis, and additional technical tools
  • Network wide knowledge of transportation, demand and inventory planning, warehousing operations, order fulfillment, distribution, and supplier performance
  • Should be able to perform Network flow design, Transportation Design, Cost to Serve Analysis, Simulations and Greenfield analysis using supply chain technology tools. to identify near-term opportunities within the current network that can reduce waste and drive value
  • Subject matter expert in Network modeling tools such as Coupa Supply Chain Guru and should be able to use ETL tools for core data inputs into models
  • Experience in creating and developing KPI’s and data visualizations of your own. Establish improvement measurement programs to sustain and measure improvements
  • Should be able to prepare and make presentations to relevant stakeholders, documenting processes, and implementing continuous improvement projects
  • Perform special research or technical studies critical to logistic support functions like market analysis, cost estimations for resourcing/ near shoring activities
  • Perform cost/benefit tradeoff analysis and develop ROI business cases for recommended projects involving process, system or technology change
  • Deliver status updates weekly with Senior Leadership on progress and elevate critical issues and decisions as appropriate
  • Leads cross-functional teams to collaborate on projects. Assist with developing and implementing growth strategies and projects

 

You Bring: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related fields. Master's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of supply chain management experience (Supply Chain Network Design, Simulation, Optimization) where designing and modeling the physical network of manufacturing, distribution, and logistics assets
  • Experience with logistics, transportation, and global trade process and procedures, preferably in a high-volume environment
  • Automotive industry and LEAN manufacturing preferred
  • Experience with SAP, TMS software applications preferred
  • Candidate must have a proven track record of taking the initiative, dealing with ambiguity, problem solving and leading change
  • Strong written, oral communication & high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time with ability to meet project timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in start-up environment and drive projects to completion in a timely and efficient manner
  • Strong Experience with Excel, SQL, and relational databases
  • Experience in developing dashboards using Tableau and Power BI preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral presentations and written reports
