The MBRDNA Autonomous Driving Team is looking for a motivated and passionate team leader who is motivated to integrate our ADAS hardware & software packages into Mercedes-Benz vehicles for development and data collection. Our Team is working with global teams and partners to create System Packages that can be rolled out to a large fleet of development/DC vehicles all over the world. This Team is responsible for providing development and pre-production vehicles. Furthermore, we are supporting the pre-production vehicle phase until the products reach the end-customer.


As a manager, your role is to define an agile and dynamic milestone plan, understand the technical details, signal chains, sensor technologies, and track daily progress of tasks. You work with our local teams and partners, and it is your responsibility to handover relevant information to our teams in other locations in the world. We expect you to lead and coordinate troubleshooting and to drive problems to closure. Also, you are responsible for steering and collaborating with our vehicle build & vehicle Ops team. We want your contribution to the strategic mid- and long-term planning of the department to be prepared for future challenges.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment, Performance Management, Feedback for the team.
  • Derive Individual Development plan for every team member.
  • Organize and coordinate daily plan and tackle complex integration problems.
  • Mentor the team to focus on topics that align with the project status and strategy.
  • Lead RCCAs (root cause analysis) for critical issues across complex AD systems.
  • Collaboration with international development teams and other external and internal partners to increase working efficiency.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and critical discussion about timelines.
  • Awareness of current project status on technical level and ability to report to upper management. Represent the topic in top management reviews.
  • Ability to understand priorities and steer the team to focus on most relevant topics.
  • Develop technical understanding of HW, SW Architecture within ADAS ECU.
  • Participate in test drives to experience our products firsthand to understand current problems.
  • Mentor junior engineers for continued growth both internal and external to direct team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree in Electronics / Computer Science / Automotive Engineering / Physics / Electrical or related fields
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in ADAS Development and knowledge about state-of-the-Art L2 and L3 ADAS functions, Data collection, System Integration, Fleet maintenance
  • Strong experience in Automotive Project management & knowledge of Automotive systems
  • Experience in People development, performance management, team building.
  • Advanced analytical problem-solving skills, ability to identify and surface issues within complex hardware/software systems.
  • Knowledge about ADAS sensors such as Camera, Radar, Ultrasonics and Lidar
  • Knowledge of vehicle communication buses like CAN, Flex-Ray, Ethernet, etc.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to formulate thoughts and ideas precisely in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing boundary conditions.
  • Ability to work on challenging project deadlines and milestones.
  • Willingness to go the extra-mile to meet overall project goals.
  • Prior experience in Automotive project coordination, planning and tracking tasks.
  • Valid US driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with automotive systems and debug tool
  • Experience with international projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Curious, self-motivated, and excited about solving open-ended challenges

The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, job-related education, skills, and experience, geographic location, and market conditions. The current salary range for this position is as follows and may be modified in the future: $175,100 - $223,300.
