Duties: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Evaluating complex user requests and clarifying and communicating the objectives in a clear and concise manner. Conducting and preparing feasibility studies for new and existing applications. Leading projects with moderate complexity and scope. Making a positive influence on your team members and peers. Providing technical expertise. Collaborate with team mates to share best practices, review logic, and learn new technologies. Work with several different database systems and business processes. Collaborate with the development teams and technology leaders across technology on product development, best practices, and automation. Accessing and applying emerging technologies, practices, and processes and strategizing and executing projects to improve efficiency and innovation. Position allows for partial remote work. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Austin, TX. Subject to Schwab's internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $157,200 to $214,700 per year

What you have

Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field. Requires 6 years of progressive, post-Bachelor's related experience, which include some experience in each of the following skills: Analyze technical and functional application modules in COBOL, and CICS, and provide estimate on design solutions, coding and testing; Develop and implement DB2 interfaces, create basic and complex queries, and query performance tuning in DB2; Designing, coding, and testing application solutions and new project enhancements in JCL; Support application systems, performance and monitoring, and develop and maintain on-line screens in CICS environment; Develop and install various types of source code into MVS System through code migration tools Changeman and Endevor; Automate job scheduling, handle dependencies and enhance flexibility in Mainframe Jobs using scheduling tools Control-M and ESP; and Troubleshooting, clustering, shared queue, and publish-subscribe solutions in Message Queues.
