Who We Are

NT Intranet is a development team dedicated to delivering innovative and differentiated experiences to Northern Trust partners. The NT Intranet team is committed to growing and supporting a diverse team, with a collaborative environment that provides educational and career growth opportunities. As a NT Intranet Senior Lead/Architect, you will drive the NT Intranet development of a large-scale website and mobile experience that aligns with our partner and stakeholder business needs.

What You Will Do

The NT Intranet Senior Lead/Architect is a strong communicator who takes ownership of the technical leadership, encourages the team to mature our Intranet delivery, and:

  • Contributes to an open culture that enables employees' development through direct but kind feedback, promotes diverse perspectives and fosters a sense of curiosity and optimism
  • Works with the technical leadership team to define a technical architecture for NT Internet digital capabilities
  • Drives delivery of Intranet solutions to align with business needs
  • Ensures the realization of the desired business outcome by implementing solutions and tracking those through to final development
  • Exercises judgement based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
  • Serves as objective escalation point for conflicts during the development process
  • Mentors the team as needed to remove impediments, achieve project goals and grow less experience team members
  • Provide solutions to complex problems
  • Carries out the most complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and strategic execution
  • Define best practices and development guidelines and ensures the team is aligned to those standards
  • Consistently displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the rest of the team to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
  • Ensures compliance and identifies and escalates risks, with an eye toward change control procedures and data security
  • Defines and monitors metrics to improve applications' stability and availability, as well as sustain and improve cost efficiencies and productivity gains
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change
  • Exhibits excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Builds relationship with our business partners and vendors as needed

Your Knowledge and Skills

As an NT Intranet Senior Lead/Architect, you must have the following experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting teams and mentoring developers on the application of Lean, Agile and continuous learning practices
  • 12+ years of application development experience using modern technical frameworks and architecture, including experience leading a technology team
  • Development and delivery of multi-channel applications (web, mobile, API, etc.) and modern architectures
  • Development and delivery of content management system based applications (SharePoint, Akumina, etc.)
  • Experience with REACT, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Java, Spring and Cloud technologies
  • Experience with databases such as Oracle
  • Understanding of the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) and/or other methodologies
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with ability to structure efficient and effective teams
  • Knowledge of various website application designs and programming techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and develop innovative solutions to meet project expectations
  • Experience managing and implementing website security and risk agendas
