Flight Itinerary (About The Role)

FLYR is on a mission to build the modern AI-enabled operating system for airlines. An important part of this mission is to develop a context-aware and data-driven revenue optimization system.

In this role, you will work on deep learning pricing and forecasting models to improve the performance of FLYR’s revenue management product. Airline revenue management is a complex field with many legacy applications and is in much need of disruption. Successful outcomes will make a significant contribution to the state-of-the-art and empower airlines around the world to better compete.

This position is located in the U.S. and the ideal candidate will be able to join us in our San Francisco office.

What Your Journey Will Look Like (Responsibilities)

  • Work with product and data science management to develop key results for given product objectives.
  • Lead technical efforts to improve the performance of deployed models and propose initiatives to shape the long-term scientific vision.
  • Apply state-of-the-art deep learning techniques to pricing and forecasting problems
  • Own and actively contribute to the design and development of internal deep learning, pricing, forecasting, and optimization libraries.
  • Establish scalable and efficient practices for data mining, ML model development, validation and inference.
  • Stay up-to-date on the most recent advances in AI and machine learning

What To Pack For This Trip (Qualifications)

  • PhD in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, or another related field, or MS and equivalent research experience.
  • 7+ years of experience building enterprise-grade deep learning applications.
  • Fluency in Python.
  • Fluency in at least one deep learning framework such as Tensorflow, Pytorch, or JAX.
  • Demonstrated ownership, bias for action and detail orientation through past experience.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to read AI research publications and implement the algorithms & architectures from scratch.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies like BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, and Vertex AI.
  • Demonstrated ability to distill complex technical requirements into actionable work streams.
  • Strong analysis skills and willingness to dive deep into data to identify root causes and drivers.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a solid understanding of the business domain and its relation to model/system performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance to junior engineers and scientists.

Optional Carry-On (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience in Reinforcement Learning, Geometric Deep Learning, or Representation Learning
  • Experience with time-series data and forecasting.
  • Exposure to pricing algorithms and revenue management.

Compensation: The salary range for this role is commensurate with experience and is as follows:

$192,000$269,000 USD
