Overview:

Walker Sands is looking for a Senior Content Specialist to join our Content team. Walker Sands is operating as a hybrid workplace — if you’re not currently in one of our hub cities, you have the option to either work remotely or relocate closer to one of our offices in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to short- and long-form writing projects that include bylines, premium content assets (tip sheets, white papers, e-books, one pagers, etc.), blog posts, case studies, larger data-driven reports and more.
  • Write, revise and finalize high-quality, clean copy for a range of B2B clients, with the goal of mastering each client’s voice and developing industry expertise.
  • Translate technical, complex client messaging into in-depth content deliverables that will resonate and engage their customers and target audiences
  • Conduct research for all types of content including simple research about current events and industry trends, and more complex research for data-driven content, surveys or data analysis.
  • Understand and execute each client’s overall goals, value propositions, messaging and content preferences.
  • Maintain client relationships by participating in and leading thought leadership calls to further develop industry knowledge and writing abilities.
  • Ensure that copy is optimized for search.
  • Write efficiently while paying close attention to the details.
  • Work closely and effectively with our Client Services, Creative and Public Relations teams to drive client success.
  • Effectively manage priorities, and always hit deadlines.
  • Participate in client-facing meetings as a content expert capable of offering substantive topic ideas, strategic recommendations and best practices about the use of content to achieve specific goals.

About you:

  • Experience + Skills
    • Minimum of  1–2 years experience in corporate communications, content marketing, journalism or copywriting.
    • Exceptional writing skills, including strong grammar and AP writing style.
    • Willingness to embrace new technology and tools as an integral part of the content creation/refinement process.
    • Strong creative skills and ability to implement feedback.
  • Traits + Attitude:
    • Friendly, goal-oriented team player that gets along well with others.
    • Eagerness to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.
    • You don’t take feedback on your work personally.
    • Ready to take on responsibility, develop new skills, learn by doing and advance your career.
    • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment, and are able to prioritize, multitask, manage time and function independently.
  • Bonus:
    • Prior experience working in technology or professional services sectors.
    • Prior agency experience and ability to keep up with the pace of an agency workload.
    • Experience with generative AI, project management platforms (Trello), survey platforms (Survey Monkey) and data analysis.
    • Understand SEO best practices and experience in developing and refining web-optimized content (experience with keyword research tools is even better).
