Summary

To assist in the administration and coordination of the activities of the Finance Control Department. To assist in establishing and maintaining an accounting system that accurately reflects the financial position of the Bank. To assist in directing the preparation of statistical and financial reports. To assist in designing proper internal controls to safeguard the Bank's assets controlled in Finance Control. To prepare the quarterly call report.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics. Three or more years' experience as a Staff Accountant. Proven experience demonstrating strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Strong working knowledge of GAAP. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate, and develop employees with positive results. Must be detail oriented, experienced with spreadsheet applications, must be able to work in a time sensitive environment, working varied hours as needed by workflow.

Primary Activities

  • Supervise the accounts payable function and those assigned to that function.
  • Prepare quarterly call report.
  • Oversee property tax filings.
  • Reviews sales tax filings to ensure compliance with state regulations and ensure returns and payments accurately reflect liability.
  • Assist in seeing that the overall operation of the Department is satisfactory and effective.
  • Ensure that personnel perform duties and responsibilities assigned.
  • Establishes and implements operating procedures to ensure proper internal controls.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining an accounting system that accurately reflects the financial position of the Bank.
  • Set up a classification system for new and established general ledger accounts to provide reporting to regulatory agencies and to provide responsibility centers with current financial information.
  • Directs the preparation of departmental cost studies.
  • Analyzes profitability trends; reviews result with Bank management.
  • Directing the preparation of statistical and financial reports
  • Ensures the preparation of scheduled statistical and financial reports for management, Directors, and bank regulatory agencies.
  • Assists in the preparation of all Bank and department income and expense reports.
  • Design proper internal control to safeguard the Banks' assets controlled in department.
  • Review job procedures and policies under their control.
  • Determine proper segregation of responsibilities.
  • Prepare and maintain all property tax records.
  • Prepare ESOP and 401K reports for external auditors.
  • Establish goals and objectives.
  • Distribute forms.
  • Participate in the selection of candidates.
  • Provide training and guidance.
  • Conduct disciplines and performance reviews.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
