We are looking for dynamic and talented associate software engineer to join the Advisor Desktop Engineering team at Northwestern Mutual. You will be working on a high impact modernization effort building an application that delivers value to our field force. The ideal candidate is full-stack, comfortable working on front-end apps as well as their backend microservices. Engineers at NM are empowered to pick the right tools and technology stack to fit their needs. The team is using the following technologies to build software: NodeJS, React, AWS, Dynamo DB, GraphQL, Gitlab, Jira, Kubernetes and Docker.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops a robust understanding of digital products that you and your team support.
  • Builds, enhances, and supports those digital products with the guidance of team.
  • Participates in code evaluations.
  • Applies engineering standard methodologies to analyze and develop software solutions.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Classroom programming experience
  • Demonstrate a continuous learning mindset
  • Able to dissect problems and recommend solutions
  • Basic technical skills
  • Able to handle straight-forward tasks
