About the Role

This role is pivotal within the team dedicated to crafting the UberEats storefront screens. As a Software Engineer, you will specialize in iOS development, with a primary focus on designing and implementing intuitive visual and auditory guidance systems to streamline user navigation and item selection. Your contributions will span the entire lifecycle of mobile application development, encompassing design, development, and maintenance of user interfaces and features for iOS platforms, leveraging the collective expertise of the team.

Your primary responsibilities will center on enhancing the fundamental shopping functionalities within the UberEats app, particularly concentrating on optimizing the storefront screen. This entails close collaboration with Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, and fellow Engineers to pioneer innovative features and enhance the overall user journey.

What the Candidate Will Do ----

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to conceptualize, plan, and implement new features and enhancements for iOS applications.

- Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable codebase for iOS apps, following best practices and architectural patterns.

- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior members of the iOS development team to foster growth and maintain code quality.

\\-\\-\\-\\- Basic Qualifications ----

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Experience (typically 2+ years) in iOS development, with a strong focus on building and maintaining complex mobile applications.

- Proficiency in Swift and/or Objective-C, along with a solid understanding of iOS SDK, frameworks, and tools.

- Proven track record of delivering high-quality, user-centric iOS applications from concept to release.

\\-\\-\\-\\- Preferred Qualifications ----

- Understanding of mobile app architecture, design patterns, and best practices for performance optimization and memory management.

- Experience with integrating RESTful APIs, web services, and third-party libraries into iOS applications.

- Familiarity with Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and ability to create visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues in iOS applications.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

- Dedication to staying updated with the latest trends, technologies, and advancements in the iOS development ecosystem.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$158,000 per year - USD$175,500 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$158,000 per year - USD$175,500 per year.

For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
