Job Description:

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings):

Software Engineer. Principal

Building best-in-class bot threat detection, protection and control features; Maintaining, re-configuring, and expanding the configuration of Akamai's Automated Release and Stability Check-listing system; Re-designing newer versions of Akamai's challenge action framework, which is a fundamental component of its XML proprietary language; Analyzing Bot Traffic data to identify new threats; Assisting in the creation of new detection systems and techniques to enhance Akamai's Bot Manager Product; Collaborating with architects to improve the overall functionality and performance of the Bot Manager; Identifying areas where automation can improve efficiency; Designing and prototyping new software application and automation ideas; Mitigating customer escalations by proposing solutions to issues quickly and efficiently; and Collaborating with other teams to ensure product development and customer satisfaction. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the United States.[AG1053]

Required Qualification:

Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Telecommunications Engineering, and Six (6) years of experience in the job offered or closely related software engineering role.

Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus eight (8) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related software engineering role.

Must have: Six (6) years of experience in the following: Java, Cassandra, Javascript, Angular, Python, Postgres, Oracle, and Ghost Programming.

Compensation:

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $183830-$293999/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
