We currently have an opening for a Lead Software Engineer with extensive AWS and Java experience. We are looking for someone to join a core team with expertise in application development, DevOps, cloud engineering, and more. You will ensure the successful execution of our business mission through development and deployment of new and exciting features. The development of this product is critical to our communications platform within Broadridge, backed by significant investment and is highly visible across the organization. We are made up of high-performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed. This role is considered hybrid, which means you'll be assigned to a Broadridge office and given the flexibility to work remotely. This will require 2x a week in a Broadridge office.

Responsibilities:

  • You'll coordinate with the Director/VP of Software Engineering and other senior engineers to establish consistent software design guidelines and standard methodologies for the software development team
  • You will work with the business/product teams to come up with technology solutions to business problems
  • Responsible for developing high quality software, collaborating and most importantly mentoring team members
  • You'll know the latest with developments in areas of relevant technology
  • You will emphasize the practice of unit testing in all development work along with documentation and developing automated unit and integration tests
  • Stay informed of/follow all relevant Broadridge policies to ensure the security and privacy of data
  • You'll participate in agile ceremonies - daily stand-up meetings, weekly sprint planning and review meetings, team design sessions, code reviews, and contribute to architectural decisions
  • Perform coding following the best software engineering principles, including detailing software design and code
  • You'll deliver accurate efforts, estimates for assigned development tasks, and review estimates for tasks assigned to others
  • Work with the QA team to help them diagnose possible bugs, and to guide them about testing requirements associated with new code changes made

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of application programming experience using Java principles, services, and methodologies
  • 5+ years of experience with REST API development, debugging and testing in an AWS environment
  • 3+ years of leadership experience leading development teams
  • 3+ years of active role in design/coding/coordinating with other engineers/testing teams and delivering quality software
  • Ability to mentor / assign tasks / trouble shoot, debug issues / monitor team members / deliver progress status to upper management
  • Proven Proficiency in JUnit and other Unit Testing techniques
  • Deep knowledge and at least 3+ years hands-on development in AWS Glue
  • Python and Java 8+ proficiency
  • AWS SDK with Java (or Python)
  • Some experience in designing Swagger using JSON & YAML languages
  • Proficient in logging frameworks incorporating best application logging practices
  • Experience in performance considerations for batch application to support high volume
  • Hands on experience with Java web application frameworks such as Spring MVC, Spring boot or Micronaut
  • 5+ years of proven ability within a programming and applications system environment developing AWS components spanning AWS SQS, EC2, S3 bucket, API Gateway, RDS, Lambda, Cognito, and CloudWatch
  • DynamoDB and Aurora DB Experience preferred
  • API Integration experience, such as using HTTP request/response, authentication concepts, and API tools such as Postman or Fiddler
  • Hands-on experience in designing Swagger using JSON & YAML languages
  • JavaScript experience strongly preferred. Java Concurrency/Multithreading experience a plus
  • Exposure to DevOps/CI/CD via Jenkins (Dockers and Kubernetes)
  • Exposure to Git and JIRA preferred
  • Experience working in Agile teams
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent discipline

Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $115,000 - $145,000. Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
