The role is responsible for stewarding strategic technical initiatives and driving the delivery of transformational change by providing leadership and direction such as operational excellence efforts, new feature roll-outs across the fleet, and preparedness for major TurboTax yearly events like product launches and April Tax Peak.

Responsibilities

Focus strategically

  • Drive company-wide programs to prepare all teams and offerings for Tax Season
  • Lead program management for cross-functional Intuit-wide programs, working closely in concert with technical leads on defining and rolling out a program plan and executing the overall strategy across Intuit
  • Connect the dots across various programs within the technology organization to simplify the 'why/what/how' and help create a cohesive portfolio or a strategy
  • Drive creation of program roadmaps and execution plans across all phases of planning, development, and production readiness and launch.
  • Work collaboratively with the leaders in your space to drive the project/program and overall Intuit strategy to accelerate the most strategic business outcomes.
  • Drive and provide data driven recommendations to execute, monitor and communicate progress, trade-offs or decisions needed

Lead change

  • Quickly and effectively, identify and clarify the critical issues and dependencies that need action and drive them through to closure. Communicate results clearly and in actionable form. Effectively balance business needs versus technical constraints
  • Partners with leadership to create a culture where teams are recognized and encouraged through change.
  • Builds trust across teams and generates broad support for the project/program.
  • Understands and supports key changes and type of change (process, technology and organization) being driven by the program and develops, executes and measures success

Enable scale

  • Recommends and drives areas of improvement within the project/program and work with stakeholders to implement
  • Participates in improvement of project/program management craft and is viewed by peers as an expert
  • Coaches and mentors others in the business on program management fundamentals

Domain expertise

  • Ability to rapidly navigate new program areas, dive deep into subject areas and bring information back to the right level of granularity.
  • Expertise in software development approach, and applies appropriate SDLC methodologies to programs and deliver on engineering and operational excellence
  • Ability to drive domain specific discussions, leading experts in the field through active problem solving.

Deliver programs

  • Drives and continually improves the project/program operating rhythm
  • Develops a high quality plan that is organized into manageable pieces that can be individually owned.
  • Uses data to assess progress to plan, uses independent judgment to provide insights, and communicates progress and trends to stakeholders.
  • Identifies risks and issues and presents recommended response plans to stakeholders.
