Ardent is seeking a System Architect to join our team.  

This is a Remote position.

Position Description:

Ardent is seeking a System Architect. The System Architect provides support for the implementation of enterprise GIS capabilities for the Department of Homeland Security.  The GIS Administrator will support software and system architects in assessing and recommending implementation plans, research, data analysis, data quality, web service creation, application testing and troubleshooting, system administration and configuration, application deployment, documentation, and end user support.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead needs assessments/requirements meetings and document solutions for GIS enterprise use
  • Perform enterprise software installation and performance tuning services
  • Installation and configuration of ArcGIS Server and extensions (Image Server, GeoEvent, Portal) on multiple virtual servers
  • Create mapping, imagery and data services. Support for Enterprise Geodatabase on SQL Server
  • Create products and models using Model Builder, Python scripting and/or process automation
  • Provide/write GIS system technical recommendations, standard operating procedures, administrative and help documents for clients and technical teams
  • Communicate with architects and developers to successfully deploy custom solutions
  • Troubleshoot solution errors and support end users

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or related field
  • 6-9 years of GIS technology experience
  • Proficiency in GIS administration tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of ESRI suite of Geospatial applications and tools
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an enterprise environment
  • Scripting or programming experience (e.g. Python, SQL)
  • Experience in consulting, solution design, software configuration, and operational support
  • Strong knowledge of Esri software, with special emphasis on ArcGIS server and Extensions
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional customer service orientation
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively with a wide range of people
  • Self-motivated and pro-active
  • Strong team skills and the ability to work independently
