Throughput/Simulation Engineer

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business].
The Role
As Throughput/Simulation Engineer you will be responsible for throughput analysis and simulation of new Vehicle programs throughout all phases of the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP). You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering (ME) centers in the design and optimization of current and future manufacturing systems and will support plants in throughput improvement initiatives to ensure awareness, alignment, lessons learnt and standardized solutions for Digital Twin
What You'll Do
- Implement simulation deliverables for assigned new/major Vehicle programs.
- Optimally run experiments/analysis, interpret results, and generate standard reports
- Respond to throughput simulation pulls from assigned manufacturing facilities
- Support ME innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Extract necessary inputs from Manufacturing Planning & Engineering documents
- Interface with Execution and Process Leads to support total plant throughput strategy
- Coordinate with MSIE, GA, Conveyor, and IE for target setting
- Utilize and contribute to the improvement of standardized work
- Deliver results to customers
- Interface with execution/process teams for validating/updating Phase 0 Data Sets
- Support development/refinement of station level data
- Occasional travel (10%)
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of engineering or manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of GMS principles and concepts that can be applied to throughput requirements
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines while keeping organized amidst varying projects and multi-plant assignments
- High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience in either Vehicle or GPS manufacturing facilities
- Experience with the Throughput Improvement Process (TIP), methods and tools
- Experience applying Theory of Constraints to improve manufacturing processes
- Experience with discrete event simulation software
- Experience writing code in VBA or Plant Simulation
- Experience with statistics
