This job is essential to Bank operations and will be an onsite role.
Job Summary
This position in Cash Services is responsible for helping to train new hires, assisting in operational activities as needed, developing learning opportunities for the department, assisting in supervising the operations, and serving as a subject matter expert in department procedures and policies.
Principal Accountabilities
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation and training.
- Evaluate new employees' readiness.
- Develop, organize and conduct training programs to address local needs and requirements (i.e. process and procedures, controls, manual balancing, etc.) as well as other stakeholder requirements (FedCash Services, Board of Governors, Treasury).
- Facilitate training through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, on-line training, and on-the-job coaching.
- Maintain and update department procedures as needed.
- Create job aids, classroom handouts, instructional materials, etc.
- Update and maintain various attendance records, reports, and files; compile and generate reports in the online Learning Management System.
- Review and update existing training and evaluation materials.
- Assess training needs for new and existing employees.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for a sophisticated inventory and accounting application.
- Participate in processes and technology improvement initiatives, activities, and projects; create related procedures and/or training as needed.
- Represent or support management on Cash System work groups as assigned.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of Cash procedures and controls; be supportive of management and Bank policies.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Be a resource to department staff utilizing the tuition reimbursement program and related software support systems (e.g., Workday).
- Evaluate trainers' performance using an assessment tool.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Accountabilities
- Provides ongoing operational support for the operation including, but not limited to, providing back up coverage for supervisors.
- Back up coverage for supervisors includes, but is not limited to, floor coverage in Paying and Receiving and managing the following: dock exceptions, order allocations, receiving differences, power resets, shredder jams, machine inspections, and end of day room inspections and paperwork.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Expected to obtain the ASTD Training and Facilitation Certificate within the first year.
Supervision
- This position is not required to directly supervise others but does include a mentoring/coaching role.
Knowledge and Experience
- Knowledge and experience normally acquired through, or equivalent to, the completion of an Associate's degree (preferred) and a minimum of 1-5 years of cash services job-related experience.
- Knowledge of MS Office and Web products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Ability to perform role with minimal supervision, capable of exercising good judgment, and proficient at resolving routine problems independently.
