Manufacturing Manager

The primary purpose of this position is to own and execute the day-to-day production activities as it pertains to safety, environmental, quality, and efficiency objectives.  This includes providing leadership and support by collaborating with other functional areas within the company to meet strategic site and company goals.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Leads and supports Hydrite’s Safety Vision, Mission and Values.
  • Direct management of all Batch, Rail, and Truck loading/unloading.
  • Accountable for the safety and quality performance of all production areas under direct management.
  • Assure departmental compliance to Hydrite SOP’s, Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and External Agencies.
  • Creates, maintains and updates operation procedures, batch records, checklist, job aids and training documents.
  • Manage operator training progression through frequent performance evaluations and coaching.
  • Review daily production schedules, required labor, communicates and align production priorities for supervisors and operators to meet customer needs.
  • Continuously evaluates, recommends, and implements continuous improvements to the plant processes to reduce operation cost.
  • Works closely with engineering and maintenance to identify process improvements, preventive maintenance, commissioning and startup of new processes and equipment.
  • Responsible for the completion of action items generated from incidents, audits (internal/external), customer complaints, and MOC within the requested due dates or set by you and your team.
  • Serve on Branch Emergency Response Team and as facility’s Primary Emergency Coordinator.
  • Guides employee performance and development through the use of daily communication, annual performance evaluations, Safe Behavioral Visits, and Leader Standard Work.
  • Support the investigation and corrective action efforts for incidents, non-conformances and customer complaints. Ensure initial incident reporting is completed by direct reports.
  • Facilitate the introduction of new products and processes into assigned production areas that are managed by your direct reports.
  • Works with other staff members to maintain workload balances.  Provides back-up support as necessary to the continuous operation.
  • May be responsible for overseeing on-site customer or regulatory audits.

All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Plant Manager. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required. Chemistry, Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Degree preferred.
  • Five years management experience in a manufacturing setting, chemical experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
