ABOUT THE FLOCK

As a member of the Sales and Qualified Treatment Center Engagement flock, you will work alongside a team of committed birds driven to make a profound impact on people living with rare diseases through our mission of establishing gene therapy as a meaningful option for patients.

The Qualified Treatment Center Account Lead (QTAL) will have primary accountability for developing the relationship with bluebird’s Qualified Treatment Centers (QTCs) and serve as the main point of contact between the QTC and bluebird. In this role, the QTAL will be responsible for driving the activation process for bluebird’s QTC network and driving appropriate utilization and patient pull-through of bluebird’s approved gene therapies within the QTC. The QTAL will achieve these goals through dynamic teamwork with internal and external stakeholders, execution of strategic business plans, understanding of the patient journey within their market and effective communication of the value of bluebird’s gene therapy to KOLs and other key account stakeholders.


HOW YOU’LL FLY

You'll help to bring more patients their bluebird days by: 

  • Developing and maintaining business relationships across a broad set of QTC stakeholders, including C-Suite personnel, Thought Leaders, and other key decision makers to achieve commercial objectives for bluebird’s gene therapies.
  • Serving as the main point of contact for assigned accounts to coordinate the QTC activation process to onboard HCPs, apheresis, cell therapy labs, transplant coordinators, pharmacy, and reimbursement leads within the QTC.
  • Educating account stakeholders on bluebird’s gene therapies to drive appropriate utilization within the account
  • Building and executing strategic account plans for assigned QTCs to advance account objectives and pull through of appropriate patients for bluebird’s gene therapies
  • Identifying the needs within the account and collaborating with bluebird cross-functional colleagues (e.g., Market Access, Patient Services, Patient Supply, Medical Affairs) to deploy solutions to address needs within the account
  • Providing customer insights and feedback to bluebird leadership regarding account business trends, performance, business issues, and opportunities.
  • Maintaining clinical expertise in Hemoglobinopathies/rare disease, including transfusion-dependent thalassemia (TDT), sickle cell disease (SCD), cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy (CALD) and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant


 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

You’re the bird we’re looking for if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred and 10+ years of experience in the healthcare industry, including account management
  • Direct line leadership experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in specialty therapeutic areas such as Hematology, CAR T, or Cell and Gene Therapy
  • Strong account management experience within hospitals, Group Practice Organizations (GPOs), and organized customers
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and strong problem-solving skills for business management of territory; Clinical selling experience (high level of clinical acumen)
  • Experience and strong capability to engage and negotiate contract terms with hospital administrators and health care providers; experience with higher priced therapies preferred
  • Knowledge of payer coverage for specialty products, distribution, and reimbursement environment
  • Experience working with institutional or integrated delivery systems and/or large community accounts, with a sustained track record of achievement and knowledge of payer coverage for specialty products, distribution, and reimbursement environment
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills applying a consultative approach to establish and sustain a strong network with a wide range of stakeholders



Travel: 50-70%


Compensation & Benefits 

We offer a total compensation and rewards package that ranks among the best in our industry. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $195,000-$250,000. Your base pay will be determined based on several factors including market data, demonstrated skills, relevant education or training, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and travel requirements. Our overall package also includes eligibility for stock, incentive bonuses, and benefit programs, a flexible time off program, as well as paid holidays, bluebird days, and a holiday shutdown in December.
