What you’ll do:

Senior Safety Consultants at Pinnacol are informal leaders who provide innovative risk intelligence to customers so they can do their best work every day. Capable of delivering an array of safety solutions, from loss control and compliance to enterprise risk strategy and implementation. Self-directed subject matter expert that leverages autonomy and creativity to solve customers’ unmet needs in a variety of ways, from traditional loss control and safety compliance to more complex enterprise safety culture work, human and organizational performance consulting.

What you can expect:

  • Lead safety management system strategic development through human-centered design tools, workshops, and holistic consulting services that address all organizational challenges which can increase risk.
  • Responsible for managing assigned internal and external projects that align with the Safety Services’ vision and strategy and help Pinnacol win and retain business.
  • Proactively analyze injury and accidents reports, claims metrics, and injury case studies across industries in order to build commercial insights and recommend changes that lead to a safer work environment
  • Responsible for identifying customers’ unmet needs, crafting customized solutions for them, and guiding their safety journey to meet their business goals.
  • Provide informal mentorship to safety consultants.
  • Proactively engage Pinnacol’s underwriting, claims, return to work, and agency relations teams to partner on solutions that decrease customer costs and improve customer experience.
  • Perform direct customer engagement to support the retention of business, winning of new business, and helping the customer drive down their loss ratio.
  • Responsible for performing self-imposed quality control on all work in a timely fashion.
  • Researches and builds commercial insights for occupational health and safety that support direct customer engagement.
  • Analyze data to assist policyholders in identifying trends in accident causes, injuries and claims management
  • Collect data and generate reports on a timely basis, using custom software, based on findings/observations in policyholder’s business and losses.
  • Responsible for effectively managing and documenting time for all assigned duties and daily tasks
  • Follow up with policyholders in a timely manner to ensure recommendations are addressed
  • Provide customer with appropriate resources, services and products to support their safety needs.
  • Manage the onboarding process in Safety Services for new consultants.
  • Build a network of internal and external stakeholders to stay abreast of industry or business trends.
  • Adopt a growth mindset through proactively identifying and addressing learning and developmental needs to enhance your own performance.
  • End user on all internal software applications
  • Use digital collaboration tools like Mural, Miro, and Google Jamboard to facilitate human-centered design processes such as design sprints, customer journeys, strategy mapping, and so forth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
  • Five years of health, safety or risk management experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience is strongly preferred.
  • Always hold an active safety or risk professional designation by an ANSI-accredited institution or from the American Institutes for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters or equivalent.
  • Supportive and comfortable with the future of work, including digital collaboration tools, virtual experiences, and innovative technologies.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply Human-Centered Design, through being curious, seeking out problems, and prototyping iterative solutions to those problems with the customer always in mind.
  • Strong customer-facing skills, sales first mindset, and robust public speaking skills.
  •  Must be able to travel up to 70% via personal automobile within the state is required; must possess valid Colorado driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance. Some overnight stays may be required.

The compensation amount for this role is targeted at $99,000-$107,000. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including your experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
