The Global Tech Sales team is looking for an experienced and motivated Strategy Consultant to join us. In this role, you will report directly to the Vice President of Global GTM Sales Specialists and work closely with the direct reports, internal and external business partners, global organization, and key customers. You'll support and understand their strategic vision and help align the leadership team to ensure all programs are well-defined and actionable. You will frequently be seen as a trusted proxy to the VP and be able to contribute to many topics directly due to your knowledge in many areas. As a result, you will be able to guide alignment with the extended team, allowing the VP to focus on other areas. You'll need to have a structured approach to work to help facilitate productive meetings, follow ups, and delivery against the group's mission, business plan, organizational set up, and strategic initiatives. Capacity to understand and inspire the strategy, acting at conceptual level, while helping the team move ideas to pragmatic actions, keeping them true to their commitments. You'll need to be open minded and innovative, challenge the team to think creatively and try new things to achieve results. To succeed in this role, you must think "customer-impact first", avoid self interest and internal politics, and earn the trust of the team. Open discussions with the VP should happen frequently, during which you are expected to listen, challenge, and keep strict confidentiality when appropriate. You will also help build a cohesive team, improving the VPs visibility about the needs of the group and also facilitating teamwork amongst the different areas and business partners. We are looking for someone who can improve how the team functions both operationally and strategically.

What you will do

  • Support VP in prioritizing project and business impacts. Use organizational skill to manage a portfolio of projects on behalf of VP
  • Partner closely with the VP's direct reports, internal and external business partners, global organization, and key customers; Help the team interpret and understand the VPs vision and strategic intent
  • Manage and facilitate the cadence and content for the VP and leadership team ensuring that time is well spent and objectives are achieved
  • Ensure that all action items from meetings are fulfilled and align with strategic initiatives
  • Strategically prioritize VP time and attend meetings and calls as a proxy when needed
  • Prepare meetings and follow up; review upcoming meetings for the week to ensure the VP has all of the information and is prepped as needed to be as productive as possible
  • Conduct pre-meetings (information funnel, filter and facilitator for VP) as needed to ensure that decisions are properly framed and as many points as possible are pre-negotiated before VP review
  • Act as the point of contact as needed with other executives in the organization, clients, or major stakeholders
  • Act as the facilitator for leader's colleagues or employees; communicate wants, needs, concerns, and ideas from employee to leadership in an effective and efficient way
  • Ensure that all organization's priorities are clearly communicated and all leaders are in alignment
  • Act as a strategic advisor and sounding board for new ideas and initiatives
  • Exercise discretion of confidential information to keep VP apprised of organizational sentiment and where applicable, keep the organization informed of SVP initiatives
  • Lead day-to-day responsibility for strategic programs
  • Focal for Transformational Project Management Office (PMO) and own all cross-team PMO activities

What you will bring

  • BA, BS or MBA degree
  • 10+ years of experience working in business sales, sales management, or sales operations
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously under pressure and under tight timelines
  • Transformational mindset
  • Organized and detail-oriented, and results focused
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Passionate about Red Hat's mission and open source technology along with an understanding of the Red Hat's role within IBM's greater cloud and cognitive strategy
  • 5+ years of people or project management is a plus

The salary range for this position is $148,940 - $245,750. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
