Edelman is seeking a trusted business partner and consummate team player to join our People team as People Manager (HRBP) for our Corporate Affairs team. You’ll be joining a collaborative team that is passionate about the work they do to grow, develop, reward, and engage the best talent in our industry. You will have the opportunity to implement talent strategies for key business units by creating strong partnerships with the business, talent acquisition, finance, and resource management.

 

If you have a background in managing talent across practices and geographies and love driving programming to develop future talent, then this job is for you! This role will be based in San Francisco, Washington, D.C., or New York in a hybrid model (a combination of working in the office and from home).

Responsibilities:

  • Manage core human resource activities, including performance management, talent management, employee relations, compensation, employee engagement, and onboarding/offboarding, reporting & analytics, and administrative support.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to employees and managers to help resolve issues, make informed decisions, navigate workplace dynamics, and drive career growth conversations.
  • Use a data-driven approach to evaluating trends, making recommendations, or implementing changes.
  • Diplomatically navigate and leverage resources and stakeholders to provide mutually beneficial solutions to problems, conflicts, and/or employee relations issues.
  • Function as a knowledge manager for the team, organizing and maintaining all group resources.
  • Understand and display advanced judgment regarding full scope of work, applicable laws and policies, internal and external culture, and the firm’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Administer approved company-wide employee relations policies and practices, where applicable.
  • Actively embody and champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion values and initiatives.
  • Live Edelman values, lead by example, and hold team members accountable to performance competencies and behavior expectations.

About You:

  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • You have strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives
  • You comfortably navigate matrixed environments and organizational complexity
  • You possess good judgment and the ability to uphold confidentiality 
  • You’re self-motivated and able to work proactively 
  • You enjoy a combination of working collaboratively and independently, seamlessly shifting from one to the other.
  • You’re a problem-solver, consistently finding creative and efficient ways to improve your work
  • You love the people function and what it contributes to an organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of progressive experience in human resources or a related field 
  • BS/BA in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in innovative HR management in a professional services environment 
  • Ability to and experience overseeing multiple projects and prioritizing appropriately under pressure 
  • Ability to and experience in effectively managing and coaching people 
  • Ability to and experience in efficiently and creatively solving problems 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Office applications
